Everything You Need To Know About Faith Guitars

My Store Admin |

There are many different types and brands of guitars in the music world, which can make finding the perfect choice for you a bit of a headache.

Whether you’re looking to start your journey or you want to add to your collection, one of the most unique and interesting guitars is the Faith acoustic guitar.

Founded in 2002, Faith guitars are beautifully crafted with unique tonewood combinations that make playing them an absolute joy.

If you fancy picking up a new acoustic guitar, follow our guide to learn everything you need to know about this quality brand.

Where are Faith guitars made?

While the company operates in Shropshire, Faith guitars are produced in Indonesia and are created by the best luthiers in the country.

From the wood being stripped to the strings being attached, great care is taken to ensure an expert build that produces a quality sound.

Patrick James Eagle is a name you will find heavily associated with Faith guitars. He has been working with Faith since 2004 and is a renowned guitar luthier, having been making them since he was 14 years old.

How are Faith guitars made?

Designed and produced in Indonesia, the workshop is a family-run business with woodworking graduates and highly trained luthiers making up the workforce.

The wood used to make the guitars comes from areas across Europe and North America, and the entire process is done in-house, with many of the pieces being made using traditional methods.

Once the guitars are built, they are sent to the spray shop to be stained, lacquered and finished. Due to the process of lacquering, certain areas of the guitar need to be masked off, and if, during the process, there is any excess lacquer, it must be removed by hand.

When designing the neck, the frets are fitted by hand, adding another personal touch to the guitar designing process. Finally, the last bits of human touch comes with fine-tuning the neck with grit papers making it smooth and ensuring the guitar will not splinter. The final action is to check over the guitar and the setup. This check just ensures that the guitar works as it should. After this, it is placed into the guitar case and sent to whoever purchased it.

What strings do Faith guitars use?

Eventually, over time the strings that come with the guitar will wear and need replacing or may snap unexpectedly.

Faith guitars are fitted with coated strings that are 12-53 gauge. So when the time comes to replace the strings, Faith recommends that you use strings such as the Elixir or the D’Addario EXP, as either of these options will allow your guitar a longer lifespan.

It is also recommended that you change all six strings at once, as only changing one at a time will negatively affect the sound the guitar makes when being played. For a crisp sound, you will want to make sure to keep on top of your string maintenance.

Before you remove the strings, be sure to loosen them as you do not want to be cutting them when they are at tension.

Who plays Faith guitars?

Faith has become a popular brand of guitar since its creation, with many notable celebrities and influencers using the guitars during performances or highlighting them on their YouTube channels.

Some Faith guitar enthusiasts include;

  • Rob Swift (SwiftLessons on YouTube)
  • Musicman Ty
  • Alicia Keys
  • Ariana Grande
  • The Sherlocks

This is just a small glimpse into the huge group of artists who perform and own Faith guitars. There are many more and the list is ever-growing.

Are Faith guitars easy to play?

Faith Acoustic Guitars are designed to be easy to pick up and play. Built with user comfort in mind, they are easy to hold and play, and with solid tonewood in the construction, the tone makes them a joy.

Do Faith guitars hold their value?

One of the biggest reasons to invest in a Faith acoustic guitar is how well they last and retain its value. The brand has earned the reputation of crafting the highest quality acoustic guitars built with solid wood. They become richer in sound the more they are played.

The Faith guitar brand keeps traditional methods mixed with more modern methods of guitar crafting. This ensures that their designs are unique and lends them to being a popular choice amongst singers and songwriters.

Faith guitars are considered to be fairly priced for the quality you are receiving with great playability. Faith themselves have won the UK’s Best Acoustic Guitar award five times, backing up the reputation and quality of the guitars.
