Description

LITE series, cutaway Grand Auditorium electric-acoustic guitar with solid spruce top

The Crafter G16CE is a mid-range electro-acoustic guitar designed for versatile players who want a well-balanced tone, quality craftsmanship, and stage-ready electronics. Known for their excellent build quality at affordable prices, Crafter has produced a guitar that performs well for both fingerstyle and strumming, making it a great choice for gigging musicians, singer-songwriters, and home players alike.

Build and Design

The Crafter G16CE features a Grand Auditorium body shape, which sits between a dreadnought and a concert guitar. This gives it a balanced tone, strong projection, and good comfort for extended playing sessions.

Key Features:

Top: Solid Engelmann Spruce (enhances resonance and tonal depth)
Back & Sides: Mahogany (laminate) for warmth and stability
Neck: Mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard
Cutaway: Venetian-style cutaway for easy upper-fret access
Finish: Gloss natural, showcasing the wood’s beauty

The solid spruce top is a huge plus at this price point, as it allows the guitar to open up and improve in tone over time. The mahogany back and sides add warmth but, being laminate, won’t evolve tonally like solid wood.

Pros: Solid top for better sound, comfortable Grand Auditorium body
Cons: Laminate back and sides won’t age like all-solid guitars

Sound Quality

The G16CE produces a rich, articulate tone, making it ideal for both fingerpicking and strumming.

The solid Engelmann spruce top provides crisp highs, clarity, and great note separation.
The mahogany back and sides add warmth and midrange depth.
The Grand Auditorium body ensures good volume and balanced projection.

This guitar works well for fingerstyle players due to its articulate response, while strummers will appreciate the full-bodied sound that cuts through well in a mix.

Pros: Clear, balanced tone with strong projection
Cons: Not as bass-heavy as a dreadnought, but well-balanced

Electronics & Onboard Preamp

The Crafter G16CE comes equipped with the LR-T NX Preamp and making it gig-ready with natural, warm-sounding amplification.

Playability & Comfort

The slim mahogany neck makes the G16CE very comfortable to play, especially for fingerstyle and lead work. The cutaway design allows easy access to higher frets, which is a big plus for soloing and advanced chord shapes.

Nut width: Comfortable for most hand sizes
Fretwork: Smooth and well-finished
Action: Good out of the box, but minor adjustments might be needed for personal preference

The Grand Auditorium shape also makes it more ergonomic than a dreadnought, offering a comfortable waist and body depth for extended play.

Pros: Comfortable neck, cutaway for upper-fret access
Cons: Some players might prefer a thinner neck for ultra-fast playing

Who Is This Guitar For?

Singer-songwriters looking for a versatile electro-acoustic for performances
Fingerstyle players who want clear note separation and balanced tones
Gigging musicians needing a reliable, well-built stage guitar with a great pickup
