Description
Description
This second hand electric guitar is in great condition - pretty much as new,
Includes original Fender deluxe gig bag
Blink-182 guitarist Tom DeLonge teamed up with Fender once again to release The Tom DeLonge Stratocaster. This iconic Strat made a comeback just in time for Blink's reunion tour .
What stands out
-
Purposeful simplicity. This is not a three-pickup, five-knob Strat. This guitar has a single humbucker (the Seymour Duncan Invader) and one volume knob with a treble-bleed circuit.
The logic: less menu, more plug-in and play — perfect for raw rhythm work and that push-forward punk tone. As Tom DeLonge himself says: “If I need it to sound different I’ll have a pedal or something — I don’t need to be messing around with switches”. - High-output humbucker, hardtail bridge. The Invader humbucker offers “immense output and turbo-charged tone” which is tailor-made for chunky power chords/crunch rather than delicate cleans. Also, the hardtail bridge (string-through body) with block saddles gives solid tuning stability and makes palm-muted rhythm playing very consistent.
- Great specs and build for the price . Body: alder with gloss polyester finish. Neck: Modern “C” profile maple neck + rosewood slab fingerboard (9.5″ radius, medium jumbo frets) → comfortable and familiar feel. Colour: Eee-catching Surf Green
- Signature / collectible appeal. As a signature model of Tom DeLonge (of Blink‑182), there’s a built-in aesthetic and nostalgic value for fans of that era/genre. The neckplate features DeLonge’s artwork.
Tone & playability in practice
-
Rhythm / power chords: This is where it really thrives. That Invader humbucker plus hardtail bridge means tight response, strong mids, and the sort of punch you want when palm-muting or doing chunky riffs.
-
Clean / edge-of-breakup: The treble-bleed circuit helps maintain brightness when you roll back the volume knob — so you can get usable cleans and “chime” when desired. Fender+1
-
Soloing / lead lines: It handles fine, but if you're after shimmering floyd-rose style effects, or lots of tonal variation, it’s less flexible than multi-pickup/selector models.
-
Feel/playability: The Modern “C” neck + 9.5″ radius is comfortable for most hands, and the slab rosewood adds a bit of warmth to the feel. Users comment that it is “fun … quality was pretty good” when they tried it. Reddit
-
Aesthetics / vibe: The Surf Green finish is visually striking, especially for players who like colour. Combined with the signature art neck plate, it has presence onstage.
-
Tuning/stability: Hardtail bridge = good. Fewer moving parts = fewer things to go wrong mid-gig.
Who it’s for :
-
A fan of Tom DeLonge / Blink-182 / pop-punk sound and aesthetic.
-
Want a guitar that’s built for rhythm, chunk and drive rather than super-clean nuance.
-
Want a simple, one-pickup, one-knob instrument with an identity.
-
Like something with signature/collectible appeal.
The Fender Tom DeLonge Stratocaster is a very strong instrument within its niche. It nails what it sets out to do: deliver raw, punchy, no-nonsense rock rhythm tone with great playability and a clean aesthetic. If that aligns with your style and needs, it’s an excellent buy.
