- Our Standard Shipping: This is our most affordable shipping option, with delivery by express courier taking 1-3 business days , normally via DPD or DHL parcel. Currently FREE on orders of £399 or over and £6.95 for orders under £399
- Next working day Shipping: If you need your guitar in a hurry, our express shipping option means next working day delivery if you order before 2pm. Currently £14.99
- Shipping to Northern Ireland - can take 48 hours to arrive , and please note we can't send very heavy items such as pianos to Northern Ireland due to courier restrictions. £19.99

The 2018 Squier Standard Stratocaster is an excellent choice for beginners and budget-conscious players who want a guitar with classic Stratocaster style, sound, and playability. While it’s not a high-end instrument, it offers impressive value for the price.
Build & Design
The Squier Standard Stratocaster closely follows the traditional Fender Strat design. It features a contoured agathis body, which is lightweight but doesn't quite match the resonance of Fender’s alder-bodied models. The C-shaped maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood or maple fretboard is comfortable to play, with smooth edges and a medium-jumbo fret size that makes bending notes easy. The overall construction is solid, though minor imperfections in fretwork and finish may be present on some units.
Sound & Pickups
Equipped with three Alnico single-coil pickups, the 2018 Squier Standard Strat offers a brighter and more dynamic tone compared to the cheaper ceramic pickups found on lower-end Squiers. It delivers the signature chime and quack that Strats are known for, making it versatile for blues, rock, funk, and even light jazz. However, the pickups can get a bit noisy with high gain, and the bridge pickup lacks the punch found in higher-end models.
Playability
The modern 9.5” radius and satin-finished neck make this guitar comfortable for both beginners and experienced players. The slightly slimmer profile makes it easier to navigate the fretboard, and the tremolo system, while functional, may struggle to hold tuning with excessive use. Upgrading the tuners and bridge would significantly improve stability.
The 2018 Squier Standard Strat is a great entry-level guitar with a solid feel and classic tones. It’s a step up from the Affinity series and a fantastic platform for upgrades. If you want a budget Strat with vintage vibes and solid performance, this is a great option—just be prepared to tweak it for better performance.
