Description
Description
This second hand electric guitar is in very good condition.
All plays fine - does have some nicks and dents in the body and some scratches on the back .
Includes Gibson gig bag and paperwork.
The Worn Cherry Sunburst finish on this 2011 Tribute gives it an authentic, “lived-in” vintage vibe that appeals to players who want tone and character over immaculate showpiece looks. The satin, lightly aged aesthetic helps convey that old-school vibe without a full relic job , perfect for players who want a guitar that feels like it’s been gigged with for years.
It’s a stripped-down Les Paul with no body or neck binding , which keeps it simple and gives it that understated, workhorse vibe that many players love.
Build Quality & Specs
-
Body: Chambered mahogany with maple top — classic Les Paul tonewood combo that balances warmth (mahogany) and brightness/clarity (maple).
-
Neck: ‘60s Slim Taper — comfortable and fast without being too chunky.
-
Fingerboard: Rosewood with trapezoids, 12″ radius.
-
Scale: 24.75″ — traditional Les Paul feel.
-
Finish: Satin nitrocellulose in Worn Cherry Sunburst — beautiful vintage aesthetic.
This Tribute model is lighter than many Les Paul Standards thanks to chambering, making it a joy to play sitting or standing for long sessions.
P-90 Pickups:
The signature feature here is the pair of Gibson P-90 soapbar pickups — the reason many players seek out this model. These deliver:
Strong midrange punch cuts through a mix without being harsh.
Touch responsiveness , cleans up beautifully when you roll back or play lightly, growls and spits when you dig in.
Versatility , great for rock, blues, punk, and anything that benefits from gritty single-coil grit.
Owners often highlight how the P-90s give a very different vibe from humbuckers — more raw, alive, and dynamic.
Playability
The ’60s Slim Taper neck and satin finish make this guitar feel easy under the hands. Whether you’re chording through a blues progression or bending for a solo, the neck profile is comfortable without being too thin or modern-style fast.
Among player communities, this Tribute series is widely regarded as “made to be played” rather than just looked at — a guitar you can reliably gig or rehearse with every week.
Tone & Style
The tone sits somewhere between classic single-coil and humbucker territory:
✔ Clean: bright, articulate, slightly scooped highs.
✔ Crunch: gritty, aggressive midrange push , excellent for rock and blues.
✔ Overdrive: the P-90s bite and bark that many players crave.
Pros
-
P-90 tone: raw, dynamic, and expressive.
-
Great playability: comfortable neck and lightweight build.
-
Vintage vibe: satin worn finish adds character.
-
Solid value: classic Gibson feel and tone without Standard price.
This Les Paul is ideal for players who want:
A Gibson with personality rather than just shine.
A single-coil punch that still holds Les Paul warmth and sustain.
A lightweight, playable guitar with classic vibe.
It’s perfect for rock, blues, punk, and everyday gigging use, especially if you’re drawn to authentic, mid-range rich tone.
The 2011 Gibson Les Paul ’60s Studio Tribute P-90 in Worn Cherry Sunburst is one of those guitars that surprises players with how alive it feels and sounds. It’s not a flashy trophy piece — it’s a workhorse with genuine character and attitude, and for many players the P-90s alone justify its appeal.
