Description
This second hand electro-acoustic guitar is in great condition
The Epiphone J‑45 EC Studio is a comfortable, stage‑ready, and budget‑friendly take on Gibson’s iconic Workhorse. The cutaway, slim neck, and Shadow electronics make it a modern player’s J‑45, while the Vintage Sunburst finish gives it that classic slope‑shoulder look. It’s not a full‑fat Gibson, but for the price it delivers warm, balanced tone, great playability, and reliable plugged‑in performance.
A slope‑shoulder electro‑acoustic designed for comfort and versatility. Key features:
- Select spruce top
- Mahogany back & sides
- Mahogany SlimTaper neck
- Rosewood fingerboard
- Cutaway for upper‑fret access
- Fishman Presys II preamp and Sonicore
- Vintage Sunburst gloss finish
- Classic J‑45 slope‑shoulder body shape
Tone & Character
1. Acoustic Tone
The EC Studio has a warm, mid‑forward voice typical of slope‑shoulder acoustics:
- Warm low end – rounded, not boomy
- Strong mids – great for vocal accompaniment
- Smooth highs – not overly bright or harsh
It’s a guitar that sits well in a mix and feels “finished” straight out of the box.
2. Spruce + Mahogany Combo
This classic pairing gives you:
- Clarity from the spruce
- Warmth and woodiness from the mahogany
- A balanced response ideal for strumming and fingerstyle
3. Projection & Resonance
The EC Studio isn’t as loud as a full‑bodied J‑45 Standard, but:
- It projects well for its price
- It has a pleasing, rounded resonance
- The slope‑shoulder shape gives it a slightly looser, more open feel
Plugged‑In Performance
Fishman Presys II preamp and Sonicore
Playability & Feel
Neck
The SlimTaper profile is comfortable and modern:
- Easy for chords
- Smooth for fingerstyle
- Great for electric players transitioning to acoustic
Cutaway
A big advantage over the standard J‑45 shape:
- Easy access to upper frets
- Useful for lead lines, solos, and modern acoustic playing
Action & Setup
Out of the box, Epiphone setups vary, but once dialled in:
- Action is comfortable
- Intonation is solid
- Neck stability is good
Body Comfort
Slope‑shoulder dreadnoughts feel slightly more ergonomic than square‑shoulders:
- Less boxy
- More rounded against the body
- Great for long sessions
Real‑World Use
Singer‑Songwriters
Warm mids and balanced tone make it perfect for vocals.
Strummers & Rhythm Players
Slope‑shoulder dreadnoughts excel at full, rounded strumming.
Fingerstyle
Surprisingly responsive for a dreadnought, especially with the SlimTaper neck.
Live Performers
Shadow electronics + cutaway = ideal for gigging.
Home Recording
Warm, controlled tone that doesn’t overpower a mix.
Build Quality
For a mid‑priced Epiphone, the 2022 EC Studio is solid:
- Clean fretwork
- Good finish quality
- Stable hardware
- Reliable electronics
- Consistent QC
The Epiphone J‑45 EC Studio (2022) in Vintage Sunburst is a warm‑sounding, comfortable, and gig‑ready acoustic that captures the spirit of the J‑45 while offering modern playability and affordability. The cutaway, SlimTaper neck, and Shadow electronics make it a practical, musician‑friendly instrument, and the Vintage Sunburst finish gives it classic slope‑shoulder charm.
