Few people can successfully wear an enormous forest of curly black hair, a leather top hat, leather trousers and permanently applied aviators. It's a unique look. Even fewer people can create some of the most iconic guitar riffs in history and single handedly revive a guitar model on the edge of redundancy. If Slash ever needed to write his CV, these points can most definitely be included as fact.

The 1980s was a decade of pointy things, and even the guitar world was not spared the infection of garish, gaudy shred machines, festooned with floyd roses and more points than a pencil convention. It's easy to see how the fashion of the time would spell bad news for the, then, 40 year old Les Paul shape: the conservative in a liberal world. We very much doubt it was by design, but Slash's unwavering loyalty to the Les Paul was unquestionably significant to its endurance through the decade of spandex and mullets. Gibson have therefore rewarded this with numerous signature models from Epiphone, Gibson USA and the Custom Shop. What we have here is the pocket friendly offering from Epiphone. Do not be deceived, it is equally as venomous as its pocket punishing big brothers.

The first thing you will notice with the Slash range is the colours, which, very cunningly, have  been designed to replicate some of Slash's most recognisable and iconic instruments. The vivid colours work wonders in making the stunning AAA flame maple tops pop. Classic Les Paul appointments are retained such as the Mahogany body and ProBucker pickups, perfect ingredients for those biting lead tones. However, premium additions include Orange Drop capacitors, which improve tonal clarity, and the signature Slash hardcase that will protect your prized possession should it fall into a snakepit.
Don't cry, come down and try a Slash Collection Les Paul instore today.
