Description

This second hand guitar amp  is in great condition

The Fender Champion 212R is one of those amps that quietly built a cult following. It’s a big, loud, affordable 2×12 combo that delivers classic Fender cleans and enough versatility to cover everything from home practice to small‑to‑medium gigs. It’s not a boutique tone machine, but it absolutely nails what it sets out to do: provide huge clean headroom and simple, usable tones at a price that doesn’t make your wallet cry.

Build & Features

Key Specs:

  • 100‑watt solid‑state combo
  • Two 12" Fender Special Design speakers
  • Three channels: Clean, Drive, More Drive
  • Built‑in reverb, delay/echo, chorus, tremolo, and vibratone
  • Footswitchable channels (with optional footswitch)
  • Classic Fender blackface styling

The cabinet is sturdy and surprisingly lightweight for a 2×12. It has that unmistakable Fender look, blackface panel, silver grille cloth, and simple controls. It’s not flashy, but it’s dependable and gig‑ready.

Clean Tone: The Star of the Show

If you’re buying a Champion 212R, it’s probably for the clean channel, and honestly, it’s worth it for that alone.

Clean Channel Character:

  • Bright, glassy, and articulate
  • Loads of headroom
  • Takes pedals exceptionally well
  • Classic Fender sparkle

This is where the amp shines. Whether you’re running it straight or stacking pedals, the clean tone is full, clear, and loud. It’s perfect for blues, country, indie, worship, funk, and anything that needs a pristine foundation.

Drive Channels

The amp includes two gain channels: Drive and More Drive. They’re functional, but they’re not the selling point.

Drive Channel:

  • Mild, crunchy overdrive
  • Good for classic rock rhythm

More Drive Channel:

  • Higher gain, more saturation
  • Can get fizzy if pushed too far

Built‑In Effects

The Champion 212R includes a surprisingly useful set of onboard effects:

  • Reverb (spring‑style, lush and musical)
  • Delay/echo
  • Chorus
  • Tremolo
  • Vibratone rotary simulation

Volume & Headroom

This amp is loud.
Like, properly loud.

At 100 watts with two 12" speakers, it can easily handle rehearsals, pub gigs, and even larger venues with PA support. The clean headroom is massive, making it ideal for pedal‑based rigs.

Strengths

  • Fantastic clean tone with huge headroom
  • Loud enough for gigging
  • Takes pedals extremely well
  • Useful built‑in effects
  • Classic Fender styling
  • Great value for a 2×12 combo

The Champion 212R is ideal for:

  • Players who rely on pedals for their gain
  • Gigging musicians needing loud, clean headroom
  • Blues, country, indie, worship, and classic rock players
  • Anyone wanting a big Fender clean sound on a budget

The Fender Champion 212R is a workhorse combo that delivers exceptional clean tones, solid reliability, and enough volume to handle almost any gig. While the drive channels won’t blow you away, the clean channel and built‑in effects more than justify the price. Pair it with a good pedalboard and you’ve got a versatile, gig‑ready rig that punches far above its cost.
