Description
Description
This second hand ukulele is in great condition
A modern, clean‑voiced baritone with a surprisingly articulate top end, strong projection, and a player‑centric design that reflects Sammy Turtons (a.k.a. 4StringBoy) precision‑driven style. It’s one of the more guitar‑leaning baritones in feel and response, making it ideal for fingerstyle, melodic work, and content creators who need clarity on camera and in mixes.
Build & Design
-
Body: Solid spruce top with laminate walnut back and sides
This combo gives you the classic spruce “snap” and definition, with walnut adding warmth and a slightly dry, focused midrange. -
Neck & Fingerboard: Okoume neck with rosewood fingerboard
Smooth, stable, and comfortable , the neck profile leans modern‑C, closer to a small acoustic guitar than a chunky uke neck. -
Aesthetic:
Clean, minimal, Scandinavian‑style design. No gaudy abalone, no clutter — very much in line with your preference for minimalist, purposeful gear. -
Finish: Satin, fast, and non‑sticky
Great for long sessions or recording takes where you’re moving between chords and melodic lines.
Tone & Projection
Overall Voice
Bright, articulate, and controlled , but not thin. The spruce top gives it a crisp attack, while the walnut keeps the lows tight rather than boomy.
Frequency Character
- Lows: Tight, defined, not overly resonant
- Mids: Clear and present, excellent for melodic lines
- Highs: Sparkly but smooth, never harsh
Perfect for fingerstyle clarity, YouTube recording, or layering in a mix without muddying the low end.
Dynamic Response
Very responsive to touch. Light fingerstyle feels alive, and digging in gives you a punchy, percussive attack.
Designed for Modern Players
Sammy Turton is known for clean, melodic playing and high‑quality video content, and this uke reflects that:
- Intonation is excellent up the neck , essential for melodic work
- Clarity translates well on camera
- The spruce top handles microphones beautifully
- Neck profile suits guitarists crossing over
If you’re used to baritone guitars, baritone ukes, or even small‑bodied acoustics, this feels instantly familiar.
Playability
- Scale length: Standard baritone, comfortable for guitarists
- Action: Typically set low‑medium from the factory
- Neck: Slim, fast, and modern
- Balance: Very good
Real‑World Use
For fingerstyle players
This is where it shines. Every note is articulate, and the spruce top gives you that piano‑like separation.
For singer‑songwriters
Great if you want a baritone that supports vocals without overpowering them.
For recording
The clarity and tight low end make it extremely easy to EQ. It sits in a mix like a small acoustic guitar.
For guitarists transitioning to uke
The neck and scale feel familiar, and the tone is less “plinky” than smaller ukes.
Strengths
- Clear, articulate tone with excellent note separation
- Modern, minimalist design
- Comfortable neck for guitarists
- Great for recording and content creation
- Tight low end avoids muddiness
- Excellent intonation
The Flight 4SB Sammy Turton Baritone is a precision‑focused, modern baritone uke with a clean, articulate voice and a design that suits fingerstyle players, guitarists, and content creators.
