Description

This second hand electric guitar is in great condition.

one small dent on the back of the body, otherwise great. Super rare Pelham Blue Finish!

Includes original Gibson Hardcase. Made in 2012 ( 2011 Model Year Spec )

The Les Paul Junior is Gibson’s “no frills” beast: one pickup (a P-90), one volume, one tone, a wrap-around bridge, set neck, solid mahogany body. The Pelham Blue finish is one of the more striking, rare finishes Gibson offered during that era. This version came out around 2011-2012 along with other gloss/“new finish” finishes (Pelham Blue, Tobacco Burst, TV Yellow) in high gloss nitro.

Looks & Aesthetic

  • Color/finish: Pelham Blue is gorgeous — glossy nitrocellulose with a deep, rich blue that under different lighting can look darker, almost tealish or greyish. It’s distinctive and stands out, especially because Pelham Blue is not super common on Juniors.

  • Hardware / details: Chrome wrap-around tailpiece (“lightning bar”), simple control knobs (volume & tone), black pickguard (single ply) — very stripped back. The neck is mahogany, and the fretboard is “baked maple” in this version.

  • Weight & feel: These Juniors are lighter than many full Les Paul Standards because there’s no top, very simple electronics, etc.

Build & Playability

  • Neck profile: Slim Taper 60’s style. Very comfortable, not overly chunky, allowing faster playing.

  • Fretboard / frets: Baked maple is distinctive (brighter feel than rosewood/ebony). Medium jumbo or “medium” frets are common; frets hold up reasonably well. Some listings mention very little wear even after use.

  • Hardware & tuning / bridge: The wrap-around bridge (“lightning bar”) is simple and robust.  Tuners are standard Gibson types (vintage style), and generally owners say tuning stability is good.

Tone & Sound

This is where the Junior P-90 really shines; simple setup, big personality.

  • P-90 output: The single P-90 in the bridge position delivers what you expect: bark, bite, and mid-growl. It’s fat when pushed, raw and gritty, and at lower gain settings it cleans up nicely (with a lot of clarity and harmonic content). Great for rock, punk, blues, garage tones.

  • Dynamics: Because there's only one pickup and a very pure signal path, the guitar responds well to pick attack, amp gain and guitar volume/tone knob tweaks. It lets you shape the tone with your hands (and attitude) rather than relying on multiple pickups or complex switching.

  • Sustain / resonance: Solid mahogany body + set neck helps; players report good sustain. The simplicity seems to help vibration transfer; not as acoustically loud probably, but plugged in, it holds notes well and has a tone that lives in the mix.

If you like guitars that are simple but expressive, that cut through in a mix, that have attitude , this is a fantastic instrument. The Pelham Blue finish adds a lot of character; it feels like more than just a guitar, visually as well as sonically. For rock, blues, punk, garage, or any style where grit and presence matter, this Junior delivers.
