Design & Build Quality

Visually, the Standard ’50s oozes vintage class. From its carved AA figured maple top and bound body to the gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, it's every bit the Les Paul you’d imagine in the hands of Jimmy Page or Slash.

The craftsmanship is excellent, with attention to historical accuracy. There’s no weight relief here – it’s a solid mahogany body, which adds to the sustain and tone, but also means it’s on the heavier side. The ’50s rounded neck profile is chunky, great for players who like a substantial grip.

Tone & Electronics

The Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups deliver a warm, rich vintage PAF-style tone, perfect for classic rock, blues, and soul.

• Bridge pickup: Bright, punchy, and cuts through a mix with midrange bite.

Playability

While the ’50s neck is chunkier than modern slim tapers, it’s comfortable and supportive, especially for players with larger hands or those who prefer that vintage feel. The action is typically set low from the factory, and tuning stability is excellent thanks to the high-quality hardware and Graph Tech nut.

It’s not a fast neck by modern standards, but it’s ideal for players who dig in with bends and vibrato.
