Description
This second hand acoustic guitar is in great condition.
With original Guild structured gig bag
The Guild M‑120 Left‑Handed is one of those rare acoustics that immediately feels like a companion rather than just an instrument. Compact, warm, and beautifully responsive, the 2022 model continues Guild’s tradition of crafting small‑bodied guitars that punch far above their size. For left‑handed players who often have to settle for limited or compromised options the M‑120 stands out as a genuinely premium choice.
Build Quality & Craftsmanship
Guild’s Westerly Collection has earned a reputation for consistency, and the M‑120 is a perfect example. The all‑solid mahogany construction gives the guitar a refined, understated elegance. The satin finish is smooth and thin, allowing the wood to breathe and resonate freely.
Tone & Projection
The M‑120 is a masterclass in what a small‑bodied, all‑mahogany guitar can sound like. Its voice is:
- Warm and woody, with a strong midrange presence
- Surprisingly articulate, especially for fingerstyle
- Balanced, without the boomy low end of larger bodies
- Intimate, making it ideal for songwriting, recording, and couch playing
Mahogany‑top guitars often lean toward a dry, focused sound, and the M‑120 embraces that character beautifully. It projects confidently for its size, and the note separation is excellent.
Playability
Guild’s slim C‑shape neck is one of the highlights here. It’s comfortable without feeling insubstantial, and the scale length makes fretting feel effortless. Chords fall under the fingers naturally, and the shorter scale adds a touch of sweetness to bends and vibrato.
Left‑handed players will appreciate that this isn’t a right‑handed design lazily flipped. The bracing, nut, saddle compensation, and neck carve are all properly mirrored, giving the guitar a balanced feel and accurate intonation.
Aesthetics
The M‑120 has a timeless, rootsy look. The high gloss mahogany glows under light, the rosewood fingerboard adds contrast, and the understated appointments give it a classy, folk‑era vibe. It’s the kind of guitar that looks better the more you play it.
This guitar excels in:
- Fingerstyle
- Folk and singer‑songwriter styles
- Recording (
- Travel and home playing
- Light strumming
Pros
- All‑solid mahogany construction
- Warm, articulate, intimate tone
- Excellent craftsmanship for the price
- Comfortable neck and short scale
- Proper left‑handed build
- Lightweight and highly playable
Cons
- Not ideal for aggressive strumming
- Smaller body means less low‑end thump
The Guild M‑120 is one of the best small‑bodied acoustics available to southpaw players. It’s beautifully built, tonally rich, and incredibly inviting to play. Whether you’re a fingerstyle enthusiast, a songwriter, or simply someone who wants a soulful, compact acoustic with real character, the M‑120 delivers in every way that matters.
