Hand made Robin Greenwood Bowed Psaltery
Description
Description
This is a very old vintage handmade instrument and, as a result, may show some slight signs of previous use and age. There may be minor marks, scratches or other small signs of wear consistent with its age, but these do not detract from its character or overall appeal. The bowed psaltery comes complete with a protective case, making it easier to store and transport safely.
This hand made Robin Greenwood Bowed Psaltery is a beautifully crafted traditional instrument, offering a unique and enchanting sound that immediately sets it apart from more familiar stringed instruments. With its distinctive triangular shape and individually bowed strings, the bowed psaltery produces a clear, sweet tone that is both expressive and captivating.
Hand crafted by Robin Greenwood, this instrument reflects the care and attention to detail associated with handmade musical instruments. Each psaltery has its own individual character, making it not only a musical instrument but also an attractive piece of craftsmanship. The quality of construction helps create a resonant, balanced sound that is ideal for melodic playing.
Unlike many stringed instruments, the bowed psaltery is designed so that each note has its own dedicated string, making it approachable for players of all abilities. This layout allows melodies to be played with accuracy while encouraging exploration of folk, traditional, early and contemporary music styles.
Its gentle, almost ethereal voice makes the bowed psaltery popular for solo performance, relaxation, music therapy and informal playing sessions. The instrument’s warm and inviting tone can suit everything from simple traditional tunes to more atmospheric musical pieces.
Whether you are a collector of unusual instruments, a folk musician, or someone looking to discover a new musical experience, this hand made Robin Greenwood Bowed Psaltery offers plenty of charm and individuality. Combining skilled craftsmanship with a distinctive sound, it is a wonderful example of a traditional instrument that continues to inspire players today.
