Description
Description
This second hand guitar is in great condition
Some slight tarnishing on the tuning heads, but nothing major.
The Ibanez RGA7 is an early‑2010s seven string that quietly built a cult following. It wasn’t flashy, but it delivered a lot of what players wanted at the time: a slim, fast neck, a carved top that felt more premium than the price suggested, and a body shape that leaned into modern metal without being overdesigned.
Build & Aesthetics
- The carved RGA top is the standout feature , it gives the guitar a sleeker, more sculpted feel than the flat RG models.
- The black finish suits the guitar’s aggressive silhouette, though it does show fingerprints and wear quickly.
- Hardware is functional but not boutique: simple fixed bridge, standard tuners, and no unnecessary frills.
Neck & Playability
- The Wizard‑7 neck is exactly what you’d expect: thin, fast, and comfortable for technical playing.
- 25.5" scale keeps things familiar, though players who tune very low may wish for a longer scale.
- Upper‑fret access is excellent thanks to the RG body shape.
Tonal character:
- Tight low end
- Clear mids for rhythm work
- Highs that cut without being harsh
Hardware & Reliability
- The fixed bridge is stable and easy to set up.
- Tuning stability is solid
- Build quality is consistent for its era
The RGA7 shines for players who want:
- A fast, modern 7‑string for metal, prog, or djent
- A comfortable carved‑top body
- A mod‑friendly platform that can be upgraded into a monster
It’s less ideal for:
- Very low tunings that benefit from a longer scale
- Those who prefer chunkier necks or vintage‑leaning tones
The Ibanez RGA7 in black is a solid, sleek, and highly playable seven‑string that punches above its weight. As a platform for upgrades, it’s excellent.
If you like guitars that blend modern ergonomics with a minimalist aesthetic, the RGA7 still holds up remarkably well.
