Description

This second hand mandolin is in great condition. just one slight scratch on the back of the body

The Ozark Army/Navy Mandolin is a traditional-style instrument designed around the straightforward, compact character of classic Army/Navy mandolins. With its distinctive sunburst finish and understated flat-back construction, it has an appealing vintage-inspired appearance that suits a wide range of folk, traditional and acoustic music.

At the heart of the instrument is a solid mahogany top, which gives the mandolin a warm, rounded and naturally resonant voice. The mahogany construction helps produce a pleasing balance between the bright, articulate response associated with the mandolin and a little extra warmth and depth, making it well suited to both rhythm playing and melodic work.

The compact body makes the Ozark comfortable to hold while standing or seated, and the relatively shallow design gives it an easy, manageable feel. The 350mm scale length offers a comfortable playing position across the neck, while the mandolin's eight strings provide the characteristic paired-string response and lively projection expected from the instrument.

An adjustable bridge allows the setup to be refined for accurate intonation, helping the instrument perform consistently across the fingerboard. Chrome-plated machine heads provide smooth and practical tuning adjustment, while the tailpiece offers a secure anchor for the strings and complements the simple, traditional styling of the instrument.

The Army/Navy body shape gives this Ozark a distinctive alternative to the more elaborate F-style and A-style mandolins, making it particularly appealing to players who prefer a simple and traditional aesthetic. The sunburst finish adds further character, giving the instrument an attractive appearance without taking away from its functional design.

The Ozark Army/Navy Mandolin is a versatile choice for folk, country, bluegrass, traditional and acoustic music. Its combination of a solid mahogany top, compact flat-back body, comfortable scale length and traditional styling makes it an approachable instrument for players beginning their mandolin journey, while also offering an enjoyable option for more experienced musicians looking for a practical and characterful instrument.
