Description
Description
This second hand electric guitar is in good condition
A chip on the headstock ,some scratching on the back of the body
The Schecter Demon 7 sits in that sweet spot between affordability and performance, aimed squarely at players who want a reliable 7‑string without diving into premium‑tier pricing. It’s a guitar that leans heavily into modern metal aesthetics and tone, but it’s surprisingly versatile once you spend time with it.
Build & Feel
Construction:
- Basswood body
- Bolt‑on maple neck
- Thin “C” profile
- 26.5" scale length
- Black satin or aged black satin finishes depending on the year
The extended scale is a smart choice. It keeps the low B tight and articulate, even with stock strings. The neck is slim enough for fast riffing but not so thin that it feels insubstantial. Schecter’s fretwork at this price point is consistently good, and the Demon 7 is no exception—edges are smooth, and the action can be set low without buzz.
Playability:
This guitar feels immediately comfortable for metal rhythm work. Chugs stay defined, and the extra scale length helps with clarity. Upper‑fret access is decent thanks to the deep cutaways, though the bolt‑on heel is a little chunky compared to Schecter’s higher‑end models.
Electronics & Tone
The Demon series is known for its active pickups, specifically the Schecter Diamond Active HB‑105s, which are essentially EMG 81‑7/85‑7 style clones.
Tone Character:
- Tight low end
- Aggressive midrange
- Crisp, cutting highs
- High output, ideal for saturation
These pickups are unapologetically voiced for metal. Palm‑muted riffs punch hard, and lead lines slice through a mix. They’re not the most nuanced actives on the market, but they deliver exactly what most players buying this guitar want: clarity under high gain.
Hardware
- Schecter tuners (surprisingly stable)
- Graphite nut
- Tune‑o‑matic bridge with string‑through body
The hardware is solid and dependable. Tuning stability is better than expected, and the TOM bridge keeps things simple. The graphite nut helps with smooth tuning adjustments, especially if you experiment with heavier strings.
Strengths
- Excellent value for a 7‑string with active pickups
- Tight, modern metal tone straight out of the box
- Comfortable neck and good fretwork
- Stable tuning and reliable hardware
- Extended scale length keeps the low B articulate
The Demon 7 is perfect for:
- Metal players wanting their first 7‑string
- Rhythm‑focused players who need tight low‑end clarity
- Anyone who wants a gig‑ready extended‑range guitar without spending £700+
- Modders who want a solid platform to upgrade pickups later
The Schecter Demon 7 is a workhorse 7‑string that punches far above its price. It’s built well, plays comfortably, and delivers the aggressive, focused tone modern metal demands. While the stock actives won’t satisfy tone purists, the guitar itself is a strong foundation—especially if you enjoy modding.
