Description

This second hand electric guitar is in great condition

The Squier Affinity  line is an entry‐level series under Fender, aimed at beginners or players wanting Fender-ish styling without the price tag of more premium Strats

What Works Well

  1. Playability, Especially for Beginners
Many users say the neck is comfortable, slim enough, and that action can be made very playable without enormous effort. For someone starting out, it gives a real “you can play stuff” feel, not a toy.

  2. Value for Money
Even used these guitars are often quite affordable. For what you get, a solid Strat‐style body, three pickups (in many cases), tremolo bridge, it’s a lot of guitar for not a lot of cash. Many reviews emphasise that you can get classic Strat tones at modest volume, enough for practice, small gigs, etc.

  3. Flexibility
Though the stock pickups are generally modest, you can cover a range of sounds: clean, slightly overdriven, bluesy, etc. The pickup switch positions are useful; users report that the middle + neck or middle + bridge combinations give that “quack” or Strat “harmonic” feel.

  4. Tone Character
Especially for cleaner tones: strat jangle, sparkle, ability to get shimmering clean chords.

Who It’s Best Suited For

This guitar works well for:

  • Beginners or hobbyists who want something affordable and playable.

  • Someone who likes Strat tone (clean, blues, classic rock, moderate gain) rather than super high gain / metal.

  • Players who don’t mind tweaking (setup, minor mods) to get better performance.

  • A backup instrument, or something for practice / recording in simpler settings.

A 2001 Squier Affinity Strat is by no means a “pro level” instrument, but it often punches above what its original price might suggest. For many players, it offers enough tonal character and playability to serve as either a first serious electric guitar, or a reliable and enjoyable side instrument.
