Description

This second hand guitar is in great condition,

includes original Takamine hard case

The Takamine EF508KC is a premium electro-acoustic guitar that combines gorgeous Hawaiian Koa construction with stage-ready electronics and Takamine’s signature playability. Built for fingerstyle players, singer-songwriters, and live performers, this guitar delivers warm, balanced tones with a rich, articulate sound. Let’s take a closer look at what makes the EF508KC a standout choice.

Build and Design

The first thing you’ll notice about the Takamine EF508KC is its stunning all-Koa body. Hawaiian Koa is prized for its beautiful grain patterns and warm, evolving tone that gets richer over time. The grand auditorium body shape provides a balanced sound with excellent projection and comfort for all playing styles.

Key Features:

Top, back, and sides made from solid Hawaiian Koa
Mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard for smooth playability
Abalone rosette and dot inlays for an elegant look
Gloss finish that enhances the natural beauty of the wood

Sound Quality

The Takamine EF508KC produces a rich, warm, and balanced tone, with plenty of articulation and depth. Koa wood starts with a bright, crisp attack, but as the guitar ages, it develops a warmer, fuller sound.

The grand auditorium shape ensures excellent projection while maintaining clarity for fingerpicking and strumming alike. This makes it an excellent choice for solo performers, fingerstyle players, and singer-songwriters.

Electronics & Onboard Preamp

Takamine is known for high-quality built-in electronics, and the EF508KC features the CT4B II preamp system, which is a favorite among gigging musicians.

Electronics Features:

CT4B II Preamp with a three-band EQ for shaping your tone
Built-in chromatic tuner for quick tuning adjustments
Piezo pickup under the saddle for natural-sounding amplification

The CT4B II preamp delivers clear, natural tones when plugged in, with minimal feedback and a well-balanced EQ range. Whether you're playing through a PA system or recording direct, it retains the warmth and clarity of the guitar's natural sound.

Playability & Comfort

The slim mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard make the EF508KC incredibly comfortable to play. The action is smooth, and the cutaway design (found on similar Takamine models, though not on this one) would be useful for upper-fret access, but the grand auditorium shape still allows for easy reach.

It’s an excellent guitar for fingerstyle players, thanks to its articulate response and balanced tone. The medium frets and comfortable neck profile make it easy to play for extended sessions.

Who Is This Guitar For?

Fingerstyle guitarists who love articulate, balanced tones
Singer-songwriters & solo performers needing a stage-ready guitar
Players looking for a premium koa-bodied acoustic
Professionals and intermediate players wanting an all-solid wood guitar with great electronics

The Takamine EF508KC is an exceptional electro-acoustic guitar, perfect for performers, fingerstyle players, and anyone who appreciates the beauty and tone of Hawaiian Koa. With its stunning looks, warm tone, and high-quality preamp, it’s a fantastic choice for stage and studio alike. This guitar is a long-term investment that will sound better with age.
