Description

This second hand valve guitar amp is in great condition

The Vox AC10C1 is one of those rare amps that manages to feel classic and modern at the same time. It captures the unmistakable Vox chime and midrange sparkle, but packages it in a compact, gig‑friendly, home‑friendly format that actually makes sense for real players.

 Build & Design

The AC10C1 looks like a Vox should:

  • Black diamond grille cloth
  • Gold piping
  • Classic control panel
  • Compact but sturdy cabinet

It’s light enough to carry with one hand, but it doesn’t feel cheap or hollow. The 10‑inch Celestion VX10 speaker is a smart choice for the cabinet size , tight, focused, and surprisingly full.

 Tone & Sound Character

This amp is all about Vox voice: bright, harmonically rich, and slightly gritty even when clean.

Clean Tone

The cleans have that signature Vox shimmer, with a lively top end and a warm, vocal midrange. It’s not a big, glassy Fender clean  it’s more characterful, more forward, and more responsive to pick attack.

Breakup & Overdrive

This is where the AC10C1 shines.
Turn the gain past noon and you get:

  • Sweet, musical breakup
  • Crunchy British overdrive
  • A touch of natural compression
  • Harmonics that jump out of the speaker

Pedal Platform

The AC10 takes pedals well, especially boosts, drives, and delays.

 Reverb

The onboard digital reverb is tasteful and usable. It’s not as lush as a spring tank, but it adds space without washing out the tone. At lower settings it’s warm and subtle; at higher settings it gets atmospheric without turning to mush.

Real‑World Use

At Home

This is one of the best home‑friendly tube amps available.
It sounds great at low volume, but still has enough headroom to feel alive.

In the Studio

The AC10 records beautifully.
Its focused midrange and natural compression sit perfectly in a mix.

Live

For small gigs, it’s more than loud enough.
For larger stages, mic it and enjoy the tone — it cuts through without being harsh.

 Pros

  • Classic Vox chime and character in a compact package
  • Beautiful natural breakup at manageable volumes
  • Lightweight and easy to transport
  • Takes pedals well
  • Great for home, studio, and small gigs
  • Reverb is musical and usable

 Cons

  • Limited headroom compared to bigger Vox models
  • Can get bright with certain guitars or pickups
  • No effects loop

The Vox AC10C1 is one of the most inspiring small tube amps you can buy. It delivers genuine Vox tone , chime, grit, harmonics, and attitude without the volume demands of an AC15 or AC30. Whether you’re practicing at home, recording, or playing small gigs, it’s a compact powerhouse that punches far above its size.
