Description

This second hand stage piano is in great condition.

Includes music rest, mains power adaptor

The Yamaha P‑145 is great digital piano for entry level or intermediate play. The new GHC keybed is a genuine improvement, the cabinet is slimmer, and the sound engine feels more refined. It’s still simple, still affordable, but now much more playable.

 Build & Design

  • Slimmer, cleaner chassis than the P‑45/P‑125, with a more modern aesthetic.

  • Lightweight at around 11kg, making it easy to move between home, rehearsal, or lessons.

  • Controls are minimal, Yamaha still prefers the “button + key” system, which is tidy but not always intuitive.

  • Optional L‑100 wooden stand and LP‑5A triple pedal make it feel like a small upright when set up permanently.

Minimalist, sturdy, and very home‑friendly. It looks more premium than its price suggests.

 Key Action

  • Uses Yamaha’s new GHC (Graded Hammer Compact) action.

  • Noticeably more responsive than the old GHS action.

  • Better repetition, firmer bottoming‑out, and more realistic weighting.

Sound Quality

Powered by Yamaha’s CFX‑based piano samples, trimmed down from the higher models but still expressive.

  • Clean, bright Yamaha tone that cuts through headphones or small speakers.

  • Improved dynamic range over the P‑45.

  • Good for classical, pop, and worship styles.

 Connectivity & Features

  • USB‑to‑Host for MIDI/recording.

  • Works with Yamaha’s Smart Pianist app (a big usability boost).

  • No Bluetooth unless you add Yamaha’s optional adapter.

  • No line outs—headphone outs must be used for amplification.

Feature set: Basic but functional. Yamaha keeps things simple at this tier.

 Real‑World Use

Home practice:

Perfect—quiet, compact, and reliable.

Beginners:

Probably the best Yamaha has ever offered at the entry level.

Intermediate players:

Good enough for daily practice, though the P‑225 or Roland FP‑30X offer more depth.

Gigging:

Possible, but lack of line outs and modest speakers make it more of a home instrument.

 Pros

  • Much improved GHC key action

  • Slim, modern design

  • Clean, expressive Yamaha piano tone

  • Works with Smart Pianist

  • Great value for money

The Yamaha P‑145 is a great upgrade to the long‑running P‑45 and one of the most playable entry‑level digital pianos on the market. The new GHC action alone makes it worth choosing over older models.

If you want a simple, great‑feeling, great‑sounding digital piano for home practice, the P‑145 is absolutely the sweet spot.
