Description

This second hand bass amp head is in very good condition

The Behringer Ultrabass BXD3000H is a compact 300-watt bass amp head that brings surprising power, versatility, and tone-shaping capability to budget-conscious bassists. With its lightweight build, twin channels, graphic EQ, and unique Ultrabass subharmonic function, it’s designed to meet both practice and gigging needs.

Features & Build Quality

  • Class-D amplifier for high power and low weight

  • Dual-channel operation (clean & distortion)

  • 7-band FBQ graphic EQ with lit frequency bands for precise tone control

  • Switchable Ultrabass subharmonics processor

  • Built-in compressor for dynamic control

  • Footswitch included (channel + Ultrabass toggle)

  • Balanced DI out, FX loop, headphone jack, CD input

  • Rack-mountable, under 4 kg

Despite its plastic knobs and budget casing, the BXD3000H feels rugged enough for rehearsals and small-to-medium gigs.

Sound & Performance

The clean channel is articulate and responsive, ideal for fingerstyle and slap playing. The distortion channel adds useful grit, though it’s more rock-friendly than metal-heavy. The Ultrabass function enhances low-end presence by generating a sub-octave tone—great for fuller live sound, though it can get muddy if overused.

The 7-band EQ is very effective for shaping your tone, especially paired with the FBQ system which highlights frequency ranges when you boost/cut.

Ease of Use & Practicality

The head is lightweight and portable, making it ideal for players who gig or commute. The front panel is clearly laid out, and the included footswitch allows hands-free control during live sets. Some users have reported fan noise, but it’s generally not intrusive.

Pros

  • Great value for a 300W head with pro-level features

  •  Powerful, clean tone with strong EQ flexibility

  • Lightweight and portable design

  • Footswitch included – rare at this price

  • Ultrabass adds punch and depth

  •  Rack-mountable and versatile I/O options

  •  Excellent for rehearsals, home practice, and smaller gigs

The Behringer BXD3000H is an impressively featured bass head for the money. It's perfect for budget-conscious players needing a reliable, gig-ready amp with powerful EQ and extra tools like Ultrabass and onboard compression. While tone purists or tube-amp loyalists might not be fully satisfied, this unit punches far above its weight and cost.
