Description

This second hand electric guitar is in very good condition

The 2013 Baja Telecaster sits in a sweet spot of Fender’s lineup: vintage soul, modern flexibility, and a build quality that consistently punches above its price. It’s one of those guitars that earned a cult following for good reason, and the Blonde/MN version in particular captures that classic Tele look with real charm.

Build & Feel

Neck:
The soft‑V maple neck is the Baja’s signature feel. It’s substantial without being a baseball bat, giving you that old‑school Tele grip but with enough comfort for modern playing. Players who like a bit of meat in the hand tend to love it.

Fretwork & Finish:
Fender’s Ensenada factory did excellent work on these. The frets are tidy, the satin‑ish neck finish feels fast, and the Blonde body finish has that slightly translucent vintage vibe that lets the grain peek through.

Electronics & Tone

This is where the Baja really separates itself from a standard Tele.

Pickups:

  • Twisted Tele neck pickup – bright, clear, almost Strat‑like.
  • Broadcaster bridge pickup – punchy, gritty, and full of attitude.

Together, they deliver a wide tonal palette: country twang, blues bite, indie chime, and even some rock crunch.

S‑1 Switching + 4‑Way Selector:
This is the Baja’s secret weapon.
You get:

  • Standard Tele positions
  • Series wiring for a thicker, humbucker‑ish tone
  • Parallel options
  • Phase switching via the S‑1 button

It’s a Tele that can cover far more ground than a traditional two‑pickup setup.

Playability

The Baja feels like a guitar built for players rather than collectors.

  • The neck encourages expressive bends and vibrato.
  • The pickups respond beautifully to picking dynamics.
  • The switching system gives you tones you don’t normally get without mods.

 Strengths

  • Excellent build quality for the price
  • Soft‑V neck is iconic and comfortable
  • Twisted Tele/Broadcaster pickup combo is superb
  • S‑1 switching adds huge versatility
  • Classic Tele look with vintage character

The 2013 Fender Classic Player Baja Tele MN Blonde is one of the standout Telecasters Fender has produced outside the American line. It blends vintage tone and feel with modern versatility, making it a favourite among gigging players, studio musicians, and Tele enthusiasts alike.
