Sound Quality

The Duff McKagan Deluxe features a Seymour Duncan PJ pickup configuration, combining a Quarter Pound Precision split-coil with a Jazz Bass bridge pickup. This setup delivers the thick, aggressive low-end that Precision Basses are famous for, while the bridge pickup adds clarity, bite and definition when needed. A three-way selector switch lets you choose between the Precision pickup, the Jazz pickup or a blend of both, while the Fender TBX (Treble Bass Expander) tone control provides a wider tonal range than a traditional tone knob. The result is a bass capable of everything from warm vintage grooves to aggressive rock tones with plenty of attack.

Playability

The Deluxe features a comfortable Modern "C" maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, making it fast and easy to navigate. Unlike some earlier Duff McKagan signature models, this version has a Precision-width nut, giving it a fuller feel while remaining comfortable for most players.
