Fender Player Series Alnico 5 Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups

What Reidys say...

"Mexico: Spicy food, hot weather, wonderful tequila. Another thing Mexico is great for is building a very high quality line of Fender guitars at stunningly reasonable prices. This is the new Player Series. With updated pickups, hardware and finishes from the old Standard Line, the player refreshes the line that has been massively popular for years. Let's start with the finishes, there's a whole bunch of beautiful new colours that Fender are offering such as our favourite, Buttercream. Don't worry if you are a traditionalist though, the old favourites like Black and Sunburst are still there. Onto the pickups, the updated designs offer everything that has made Fender the go-to for everything from chimey, bright clean tones to percussive, tight overdrives. These guitars are built to offer versatility, easy playability and fantastic quality and they deliver on everything and more. Come in and try one today!

The Jazz bass was first released a few years after the P-Bass and offers a slightly and less-rounded brighter sound, with a stronger attack. You’ll see Fender Jazz basses in the hands of loads of players around the world - from disco bands, to metalheads. It’s reliable and versatile - you’ve got a volume knob for each pickup so you can use just the bridge pickup, just the neck, or a blend of both - you’re in control (the third knob is a master tone). The Player Jazz bass takes up where the legendary Mexican Standard left off and offers bassists an affordable but studio/road-worthy instrument that won’t let them down. The pickups are dynamic, clear and punchy, plus the build-quality is really impressive. Ideal for pros and novices alike."

Richard Blenkinsop, Guitar Expert

With its dual single-coil pickups and smooth playing feel, the Player Jazz Bass is an inspiring instrument with classic, elevated style and authentic Fender bass tone. It’s powerful, rumbling sound is punchy and tight; a growling voice that’s matched with fast, smooth playing feel for a shot of creative inspiration. Ready for action in the studio, or on the stage, the Player Jazz Bass can take anything you can think of and everything you haven’t yet.

Respecting our heritage while maintaining our innovative spirit, the two growling Player Series single-coil pickups are packed with legendary Fender bass tone, turned up to 11 for modern ears. Volume controls for each and a master tone control are close to hand to shape the pickups’ powerful voice so you can easily craft your sound. The “Modern C”-shaped maple neck’s hosts a 9.5”-radius fingerboard with 20 medium-jumbo frets that are ideal for almost any playing style, while the 4-saddle bridge is engineered for accurate intonation and easy action adjustment so you can personalize the feel to your playing style and taste.

Other features include a 3-ply pickguard, synthetic bone nut, vintage-style disc string trees, open-gear tuning machines and a four-bolt “F”-stamped neck plate that marks this instrument as the real deal as Fender as it gets.

When you need a bass that can help you get to the next level one that has genuine Fender sound, style and feel reach for the Player Jazz Bass.
