Description
This second hand guitar effects pedal is in very good condition
Built in the MXR Custom Shop, this feature-packed analogue pedal combines the vintage-inspired La Machine Fuzz with an earth-shaking sub-octave circuit and switchable octave-up mode, creating everything from classic psychedelic fuzz to huge synth-like walls of sound.
At its heart, the Sub Machine is a superb fuzz pedal in its own right. The Volume, Tone and Fuzz controls offer a huge range of textures, from gritty vintage breakup to thick, saturated distortion with endless sustain. Unlike many octave fuzzes, however, the Sub Machine goes much further by adding a dedicated Sub control, allowing you to blend in as much low-octave growl as you need.
A standout feature is the Series/Parallel switch. In Parallel mode, the sub-octave sits alongside the fuzz for a clearer, more defined sound. Flick it into Series mode and the sub-octave is driven through the fuzz circuit, producing colossal, speaker-shaking tones that verge on analogue synthesiser territory. Add the dedicated Octave Up switch and the pedal becomes an incredibly creative tool for soaring lead lines, psychedelic riffs and experimental textures.
Despite its extreme capabilities, the Sub Machine is surprisingly versatile. Roll back the gain and it delivers thick, vintage-style fuzz reminiscent of the late '60s and early '70s. Crank everything up and it produces monstrous modern sounds that are equally at home in stoner rock, doom, garage, alternative and experimental music. It also performs exceptionally well on bass, where the sub-octave adds huge low-end weight without becoming muddy
Like every MXR pedal, the M225 is built to withstand life on the road. Its rugged metal enclosure, quality footswitches and straightforward control layout make it easy to integrate into any pedalboard while providing years of reliable service.

Whether you're chasing Hendrix-inspired octave leads, massive doom riffs or experimental soundscapes, the Sub Machine delivers outstanding performance and exceptional value. For players who like their fuzz big, bold and unapologetically unique, this is one of MXR's finest creations.
