It features a laminated wood shell with 24 plated brackets for even head tension, and a single co-ordinator rod for easy adjustment. An 11" Remo drum head is fitted, providing clear, vibrant tone.

  • Laminated wood shell
  • 24 plated brackets
  • 19 fret ovangkol fingerboard
  • Maple bridge ebony tip
  • 11"" Remo coated head
  • Scale length: 505mm
  • Padded gig bag included
  • Standard tuning: C–F–C–E–G

🎶 Overview: What It Is

A banjourine is basically a banjo strung and tuned more like a guitar or ukulele — combining banjo’s bright, percussive tone with easier guitar-like playability. Ozark makes these as part of a broader range of banjo-family instruments, typically aimed at beginners or players who want something fun and portable.

👍 Pros

Great for Beginners / Casual Players – The short scale and open-back design make it comfortable and easy to play, especially if you’re new to banjo-family instruments or coming from guitar/ukulele.

Portable & Fun – Very light and travel-friendly; nice choice if you want something to grab and play in informal settings.

Good Value – Compared with full-size banjos, instruments like this are reasonably priced and often come with a padded gig bag included.

👎 Cons

Not a Full-Size Banjo Tone – Because it’s shorter scale and open-back, it won’t project like a full resonator banjo and has a thinner sound (which is fine for some styles, less ideal for bluegrass).

Basic Build Quality – Ozark instruments at this price point are generally entry-level. They’re good for learning and casual playing, but serious players may outgrow them. Some owners note that parts like tuners or finish quality can be a bit basic compared to higher-end instruments.
