Schecter Demon 7FR Aged Black Satin 7-String Floyd Rose

The Schecter Demon-7 FR is a powerful seven-string electric guitar designed for players who demand aggressive tones, extended range and reliable performance. Finished in Aged Black Satin, it combines a striking dark aesthetic with black chrome hardware, aged cream binding and distinctive Gothic cross fretboard inlays. Built with rock and metal guitarists in mind, this instrument offers a combination of high-output electronics, comfortable playability and a versatile floating tremolo system.

The guitar features a basswood body paired with a bolt-on maple neck, providing a solid foundation for its powerful sound. The 26.5-inch scale length is particularly well suited to seven-string playing, helping maintain string tension and definition on the lower strings. This makes the Demon-7 FR an excellent choice for extended-range riffs, low tunings and modern metal styles where clarity and tightness are essential. The Thin C neck profile offers a comfortable feel, while the wenge fingerboard and 24 extra-jumbo frets provide plenty of room for fast runs, bends and technical lead work.

At the heart of the Demon-7 FR are two Schecter Diamond Active HB-105S humbuckers. These active pickups deliver a strong, focused output with plenty of punch and sustain, making them particularly effective for high-gain applications. The bridge pickup provides tight, aggressive attack and clear note definition for heavy rhythm playing, while the neck pickup offers a fuller, smoother character suited to solos and melodic passages. Their articulate response helps individual notes remain distinguishable in complex riffs and lower-register chord work. A three-way pickup selector, master volume and tone controls provide straightforward control over the guitar's sound.

One of the model's defining features is its Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo system. Designed to maintain tuning stability during demanding playing, it allows guitarists to perform dramatic pitch dives, vibrato effects and expressive tremolo techniques. The locking nut and bridge work together to help keep the strings stable during extensive use of the tremolo arm, making it particularly appealing to players who incorporate these techniques into their performances. As with any Floyd Rose-equipped guitar, changing strings and adjusting tuning can require more setup time than a conventional fixed-bridge instrument, but the expressive possibilities make it a worthwhile feature for the right player.

Visually, the Aged Black Satin finish gives the Demon-7 FR a distinctive, understated appearance, complemented by black chrome hardware and Gothic cross inlays. The combination of dark styling and contrasting binding creates a guitar that looks every bit as purposeful as it sounds. Its ergonomic double-cutaway design also provides comfortable access across the 24-fret fingerboard, making it suitable for both rhythm and lead playing.

Combining extended-range versatility, active humbuckers and a Floyd Rose Special tremolo, the Schecter Demon-7 FR is an excellent option for guitarists looking to explore the heavier side of modern electric guitar. From tight, low-tuned riffs to expressive lead work and dramatic tremolo effects, it offers the features and playability needed for demanding rock and metal performance. Its distinctive styling and practical design make it a compelling choice for players seeking a dedicated seven-string guitar with plenty of attitude.
