Description

This second hand  bass guitar is in great condition

The Squier Affinity Jazz Bass VI is a fun, affordable, extended‑range instrument that blends bass and guitar roles. It offers a playable, inspiring entry point into the world of baritone/extended‑range basses for players who want something different without spending big money.

Squier’s Affinity Jazz Bass VI is essentially a six‑string, short‑scale bass/guitar hybrid, tuned E–E like a standard guitar but an octave lower. It’s designed for players who want to explore:

  • chordal bass playing

  • melodic lines with deep low‑end

  • baritone textures

  • ambient or cinematic soundscapes

  • guitar‑style riffs with bass weight

Tone & Performance

The Affinity Jazz Bass VI has a surprisingly wide tonal palette thanks to its pickup configuration and scale length.

Low‑End Response

  • Warm, rounded lows

  • Not as deep or thunderous as a full 34" bass

  • Perfect for chordal playing and melodic bass lines

Midrange & Clarity

  • Strong mid presence

  • Guitar‑like articulation

  • Works well with effects (reverb, delay, chorus, fuzz)

Highs

  • Bright enough for lead lines

  • Can get a little sharp if the tone is wide open

Pickups

Most versions use dual single‑coil Jazz Bass‑style pickups, giving:

  • Neck: smooth, warm, almost baritone‑like

  • Bridge: bright, snappy, guitar‑ish bite

  • Both: scooped, clean, and great for chords

 Features

  • Six strings, E–E tuning

  • 30" short scale

  • Dual single‑coil pickups

  • Jazz Bass body shape

  • Simple controls (volume, tone, 3‑way switch)

  • Lightweight and comfortable

Build Quality

As an Affinity‑series instrument, the build is solid but basic:

  • Lightweight poplar body

  • Comfortable C‑shape neck

  • Decent fretwork for the price

  • Hardware is functional but not premium

Real‑World Use

Bassists

  • Great for chordal playing

  • Perfect for melodic bass lines

  • Adds new textures to recordings

Guitarists

  • Easy transition thanks to familiar tuning

  • Lets you explore lower registers without learning bass technique

  • Ideal for ambient, , post‑rock, and experimental styles

Recording

  • Fantastic layering tool

  • Sits between guitar and bass in a mix

  • Works beautifully with effects

Live Use

  • Great for creative players

  • Not a traditional bass replacement

  • Shines in trio setups or atmospheric music

 Strengths

  • Unique, inspiring instrument

  • Easy for guitarists to adapt to

  • Great for chords, leads, and textures

  • Lightweight and comfortable

  • Excellent value for money

The Squier Affinity Jazz Bass VI is for players who want to experiment with extended‑range textures, cinematic tones, or chordal bass work, it’s one of the most affordable and enjoyable ways to get into the 6 string Bass world.

Features

  • Thin contoured offset body
  • Graphite-reinforced slim “C”-shaped neck
  • Squier single-coil pickups
  • Lightweight sealed-gear tuning machines
  • 6-saddle bass bridge, 17mm string spacing
