This second hand electric guitar is in great condition
The Squier Classic Vibe ‘70s Jaguar is a standout model in the Classic Vibe lineup. It captures the quirky charm, tonal versatility, and unmistakable offset feel of a vintage Jaguar without the eye‑watering price tag. For players who want that surf‑meets‑alt‑rock vibe with modern reliability, this guitar hits a sweet spot.
Build & Construction
Squier absolutely nailed the vintage aesthetic here.
- Offset Jaguar body with the classic short 24" scale
- Gloss-finished maple neck with block inlays and binding (very ‘70s)
- Narrow tall frets for easy bending and clean articulation
- Vintage-style tuners that hold tuning surprisingly well
- Floating tremolo system that feels authentic but stable
Pickups & Electronics
This is where the Jaguar’s personality really shines.
Pickups
- Two Fender‑designed Alnico single coils
- Bright, chimey, and articulate
- Classic Jaguar “cut” without being ice‑picky
- Surprisingly full when driven
Switching System
True to the original Jaguar layout:
- Upper bout rhythm circuit (darker, warmer, neck‑only)
- Lower bout lead circuit with pickup on/off switches
- Strangle switch (high‑pass filter) for that iconic thin, cutting tone
Tone & Performance
The Classic Vibe ‘70s Jaguar delivers a wide tonal palette.
Clean tones
- Sparkly and crisp
- Tight low end
- Perfect for funk, surf, indie, and rhythm work
Driven tones
- Surprisingly punchy
- Cuts through a mix without harshness
- Loves fuzz, distortion, and modulation
Rhythm
- Warm, dark, jazzy
- Great for mellow chord work or lo‑fi textures
The short scale adds a slightly looser, more expressive feel, great for bends, vibrato, and tremolo work.
Playability
This is one of the most comfortable guitars in the Classic Vibe range.
- Short scale = slinkier feel and easier fretting
- Slim C neck is fast and comfortable
- Narrow tall frets make chords clean and bends smooth
- Floating trem is expressive without being unstable
Pros
- Fantastic vintage aesthetics
- Wide tonal versatility
- Comfortable short‑scale feel
- Fender‑designed pickups sound excellent
- Great value for money
- Authentic Jaguar switching and trem system
The Squier Classic Vibe ‘70s Jaguar is one of the best value offset guitars on the market. It captures the spirit of the original Jaguar, quirky, versatile, stylish, and endlessly fun, while offering modern reliability and excellent build quality.
