Description
This second hand electro-acoustic guitar is in great condition
2015 model. includes original Taylor Structured Gig Bag.
The 2015 Taylor 110e is an excellent choice for guitarists looking for a high-quality dreadnought acoustic-electric at an affordable price. As part of Taylor’s 100 Series, the 110e delivers Taylor’s signature playability, crisp tone, and reliable electronics, making it a great option for beginners, intermediate players, and even gigging musicians.
Build Quality & Materials
The Taylor 110e features a solid Sitka spruce top, which is known for its bright, dynamic, and responsive sound. The back and sides are made from layered sapele, which enhances durability and provides a warm, balanced midrange. While layered wood doesn’t resonate as much as all-solid construction, it makes the guitar more resistant to temperature and humidity changes—ideal for traveling musicians.
The neck is crafted from tropical mahogany, offering stability and smooth playability. The ebony fingerboard adds a premium feel and enhances the overall playing experience. With a dreadnought body shape, the 110e produces a bold, full sound, making it great for strumming and rhythm playing.
Sound & Tone
The 110e has a strong, punchy sound with excellent projection, thanks to its dreadnought shape. It offers clear highs, a warm midrange, and a solid low end, making it well-suited for both fingerpicking and strumming. The solid spruce top ensures good dynamic response, meaning it can handle both soft fingerstyle playing and aggressive strumming without losing clarity.
While the layered sapele back and sides don’t add as much richness as solid wood, they still contribute to a balanced and warm tone. The 110e has enough volume to cut through a mix, making it a good choice for solo performances and band settings.
Electronics: ES2 System
One of the standout features of the 2015 Taylor 110e is its Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics. Unlike traditional under-saddle pickups, the ES2 system features three sensors behind the saddle, capturing a more natural, dynamic tone when plugged in. The onboard preamp includes simple volume, bass, and treble controls, making it easy to dial in your sound for live performances or recording.
The ES2 system does a great job of reproducing the guitar’s natural acoustic tone, avoiding the thin or artificial sound that some piezo pickups can create.
Playability & Comfort
Taylor guitars are known for their exceptional playability, and the 110e is no exception. The slim neck profile and low action make it easy to play, even for beginners. The dreadnought shape may feel large for some players, but it provides a comfortable strumming experience and a powerful sound.
Value for Money
For a mid-range price, the Taylor 110e offers incredible value. You get a solid-top Taylor acoustic with a high-quality pickup system, making it a strong contender against other guitars in its price range. While it lacks the all-solid wood construction of higher-end Taylors, it still provides great sound and durability.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Solid Sitka spruce top for great tone and resonance
- Excellent playability with a comfortable neck and low action
- Powerful, full-bodied dreadnought sound
- High-quality ES2 electronics for natural amplified tone
- Durable, climate-resistant layered back and sides
Cons:
- Large dreadnought body may not be comfortable for all players
- No cutaway for easier upper fret access
The 2015 Taylor 110e is a fantastic choice for players who want a high-quality dreadnought with a strong sound and reliable electronics. It’s well-built, sounds great both unplugged and amplified, and offers Taylor’s signature playability at a reasonable price. Whether you’re a beginner looking for a long-term investment or a gigging musician in need of a solid acoustic-electric, the 110e is a great option.
