Shipping Options:
We offer a variety of shipping options to cater to your specific needs. Whether you need your guitar delivered quickly or prefer a more cost-effective option, we have you covered. Our shipping options include:
- Our Standard Shipping: This is our most affordable shipping option, with delivery by express courier taking 1-3 business days , normally via DPD or DHL parcel. Currently FREE on orders of £399 or over and £6.95 for orders under £399
- Next working day Shipping: If you need your guitar in a hurry, our Next Working Day shipping option means next working day delivery if you order before 2pm. Currently £12.99. (please note, working day means Monday-Friday , excluding bank holidays - Orders placed before 2pm Friday will be delivered Monday. Orders placed after 2pm Friday would shipped on Monday, delivered Tuesday.) * Please Note: Next Working Day option is not available on some items , check delivery options at the checkout.
- Shipping to Northern Ireland - can take 48 hours to arrive , and please note we can't send very heavy items such as pianos to Northern Ireland due to courier restrictions. £19.99

Description
The Trevor James Alphasax is a genuinely unusual saxophone, specifically designed for younger and smaller players. Rather than simply making a conventional alto saxophone smaller, Trevor James redesigned the instrument from the ground up to make it lighter, more comfortable and easier to handle for developing musicians.
One of the Alphasax's biggest advantages is its weight. At approximately 1.86kg, it is around 33% lighter than a standard alto saxophone, making a significant difference for a younger player who may find a full-size instrument uncomfortable to hold for extended periods.
The ergonomics have also been carefully considered, with redesigned keywork helping to reduce the stretch required by smaller hands. The top D key has been adjusted, while the G#, low C#, D# and C keys have all been redesigned to improve accessibility. Extended palm and side keys have also been removed to help reduce strain.
Despite its compact design, the Alphasax is a proper Eb alto saxophone with a fully chromatic range from low C to high D. Perhaps most importantly, it retains standard saxophone fingering, meaning that a young player can develop proper technique and progress naturally onto a conventional saxophone as they grow.
The Alphasax is therefore much more than simply a smaller beginner instrument. It is a carefully designed solution for young musicians who are physically too small for a standard alto saxophone, allowing them to start learning comfortably and confidently rather than having to wait until they are big enough.
This second-hand example represents a great opportunity to own one of Trevor James' most distinctive saxophones at a more accessible price. It would be an excellent choice for a younger player starting their saxophone journey, particularly where the size and weight of a conventional alto saxophone are proving difficult.
The Alphasax has also received industry recognition, having won the UK Music Industry Association's Best Woodwind & Brass Instrument of the Year award, highlighting just how innovative its design is.
